Gladys Urbina

President

Gladys Urbina is a seasoned executive in Belize’s international banking industry and currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer at Caye International Bank. In December 2024, she was elected President of the Belize International Financial Services Association (BIFSA), having previously served as a Director since 2023.

Her expertise encompasses risk management, executive management, finance, corporate governance, strategic planning, and leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and an MBA from Galen University, and is certified as an Anti-Money Laundering Certified Associate (AMLCA), Certified Virtual Assets Associate (CVAA), and in Correspondent Banking through Florida International University Executive Education in collaboration with the Financial and International Business Association (FIBA). Gladys also serves on the Executive Committee of the Belize Bankers Association.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Gladys is deeply committed to community and educational development. She serves on several boards, including Belize Bird Rescue, the country’s only multi-species avian rescue and rehabilitation center. Additionally, she is the Vice Chairlady of the San Pedro High School, San Pedro Junior College, and the San Pedro Adult Continuing Education School, where she continues to champion educational advancement in her community.
