Suspicious Transaction Reports: when, why, how

The Belize International Financial Services Association (BIFSA) in collaboration with
the Financial Intelligence Unit of Belize announces its STR half-day training session.

The STR Training is being held at the Best Western Plus Belize Biltmore Plaza, 3½
Miles Phillip Goldson Highway, Belize City, Belize on Friday 2nd September, 2016
from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Training will focus on filing of suspicious
transaction reports and will cover when they should be filed, why they should be
filed and how they should be filed with the FIU.

Structure of the Training will be as follows:

  • An overview of the FIU: its role, responsibilities and powers
  • A presentation on how to file an STR: when, why, how, indicators, timeframe, reasonable grounds
  • An interactive group session

A coffee break is to be provided for attendees. Invitation to register is open to
BIFSA Members and the general public at a cost of BZ$75.00 per person. To
